For reference, my ferritin levels at 8 weeks were 80 ng/mL

thanks for all the beneficial information @Bernadette Abraham!
Nausea
I tried drinking bone broth and didn’t experience any symptoms and it helped with my nausea
Spicy food is a trigger for nausea, but tomatoes and oranges seem to help combat the nausea for now
I’ll be purchasing some lemon balm tea soon and fermenting some vegetables.
Coffee
I really enjoy the taste of coffee, so I was wondering if you have any suggestions to replace it that are safe for pregnancy?

@Bernadette Abraham Fever broke after the third day thankfully! I was hesitant to do the magic socks technique because my feet get chilblains easily in the winter if I don’t keep socks on.

Thanks for all this information, super helpful! The information is more theoretical. I’m want to get pregnant in a few months, so I’m trying to gather as much information as possible about pregnancy, breastfeeding, and postpartum so I don’t feel overwhelmed during pregnancy looking for information if that makes sense.
I’ve seen sunflower lecithin being suggested for clogged ducts. What are your thoughts on that? Do you have any recommendations?

Hi , would you recommend the same probiotics [A mix of Lactobacilli: L. acidophilus + L. casei + L. rhamnosus + L. Plantarum] for those who have taken multiple courses of antibiotics but are not experiencing diarrhea? Or would something else be better? I didn’t add S. boulardii to the list bc the person also has chronic yeast infections bc of taking multiple courses of antibiotics + weakened immune system from cancer. Thanks!

so the last course of birth control I took was August 2020 (around the time my arm issues started). Before that, I took it in approximately September to December 2019.
How long would the depletion of B vitamins effect remain after birth control medications are stopped? I presume it shouldn’t deplete B vitamins 2-3 later.
Is there a specific brand you recommend for the hair mineral test?
Thanks!

Thank you ! Would you recommend the same tests for my husband as well or another set of tests for him?

I was not sick and had not taken the vaccine when the arm pain started. During the early days of the pandemic, everything was online, which I think contributed to poor posture and pain related issues. I also developed TMJ during this time, so I think they were all interconnected. My TMJ, like my arm pain is much better, and is only worsened by excessive use (i.e. chewing hard food). Stress was a big factor for developing TMJ, however.
I did get my blood sugar markers tested during that time, and they were considered normal. I don’t have access to the test results anymore because they were done in another country.
I was not taking any supplementation (vitamin D, magnesium or otherwise) or medication during that time. I used to cycle on and off birth control pills (few months on, few months off), so there may be some overlap there.
A few months after my arm pain started, I did start taking a B complex supplementation (not sure if it had pyridoxine) for a few weeks. I do not remember noticing a significant difference.
My symptoms for my neck are consistent throughout the day, so not worse or better during the day or night.
My symptoms for my arms are dependent upon sleeping position (i.e. if I slept on my arm like today ) or if I overwork them.
I have not tested B12, B6, or heavy metals. I eat a variety animal meat & seafood 1-2 times a day, and I do not have any mercury fillings. I have recently started filtering my drinking & cooking water, but it is possible that I do have some from before. Would you recommend a blood or urine test for heavy metal testing?
I do have cold hands & feet in the winter only even when I wear socks. I did a full thyroid panel, and everything seemed okay. You did comment that the Free T4 and T3 could be higher [The low body temperature no longer remains an issue. I realized the low temperature readings were due to how cold the room was, and keeping the thermometer in my mouth for a few additional minutes gave me a more accurate reading]
To invetigate this further, I am getting some blood work done next week. Right now, I have a CBC, CMP (including fasting glucose), iron, vitamin D, HbA1c, lipid panel, and hs-CRP ordered.
I will see if I can add B12 (cobalamin, serum), and the others you suggested from the pregnancy planning post. Do you have additional recommendations?
Thank you!

I’ll look into it, thank you!

I’ve heard of cyclic progesterone therapy for those with PCOS (specifically very long cycles, 3+ months) by Dr. Lara Briden (see https://www.larabriden.com/cyclic-progesterone-therapy-for-pcos/). What are your thoughts on it?
Do you know if the same effect can be achieved with topic progesterone as well?

Thanks for all your hard work and support! I would love to see a course on preconception and pregnancy (for both men and women), if possible. I know it may not be applicable to everyone.
I’m also really excited to dive into this month’s course. What topic is it gonna be on?

It does, thank you!

Thank you and !
I’ll start off by using a new thermometer and checking my CRP levels (since I’ve been wanting to measure it anyway) before I do any additional testing for nutrient deficiencies.
I was reviewing the videos from mineral balance, and I don’t think I have any deficiency (except Magnesium, but I do take supplements for it) from what I can tell based off of signs and symptoms
I had two follow up questions:
1) What CRP test would I do? My local lab has the following options: hs-CRP or just CRP.2) Since poor liver health can contribute to high rT3, I’m wondering if taking taurine will help. I recently got it, and plan on taking it starting this week for billiary tract congestion (based on the recommendation Bernadette provided on my Gut Health post). What dose should I take, how often, and should it be with or without food?
Thank you!

Sorry, it was a typo. It was pg/mL. I’ve attached a copy of the results with the reference ranges as well

Thanks for your response.
I was not iron deficient pre-pregnancy and neither was I in my first trimester. My providers redid blood work at 27 weeks, which is when I was diagnosed with mild anemia.
I can attach the screenshot of the labwork and the reference ranges they provide, but the reference ranges are for normal situations and not for pregnancy specifically.
I have been consuming iron rich foods, like red meat, eggs, nuts, lentils, and some leafy greens. I’ve been trying to consume them with vitamin C rich foods, which is why I think my ferritin levels did go up in the past month. I am concerned about my Hb and platelets being on the lower end, and not increasing.
I do not think I have a stomach acid problem because my stools have been quite regular and usually type 3/4. They are occasionally softer or harder but I’d suspect my organs being squished has something to do with that and progesterone.
My copper was not measured. I did not have iron deficiency or heavy periods before pregnancy.
I’m not sure if I have a simmering infection. I had a mild cause of the flu/covid (not sure which one because I didn’t get tested) three weeks ago (week 30 of pregnancy), and I got a cold sore on my chin two days ago (week 33). My WBC levels that were tested in the last week of August (week 32) seemed a bit higher and so did my neutrophils. I know WBC increase during pregnancy and remain high until delivery, so I’m not sure if it’s indicative of anything. Would love to hear your thoughts on it
