• How to Look at Your Blood Work the Right Way

In today’s lesson, ‘Blood Test Interpretation Tips,’ from the course ‘Interpreting Basic Blood Chemistry, ‘ we zoom out to discuss something that truly changes the way you look at labs: context.

Interpreting blood work through a functional lens isn’t about circling highs and lows. It’s about putting on your investigative hat and asking better questions.

      Timing matters.
Was your blood drawn at 7am or 3pm? Were you fasting? Stressed? Sick? Where were you in your cycle? Labs are a snapshot in time — and that snapshot can shift depending on what was happening in your body that day.

We also cover why the “middle of the reference range” isn’t always the goal. Some markers are better toward the lower end, others toward the higher end. And some only make sense when viewed in relation to other markers — like sodium and potassium, or different types of nutrient testing (serum vs. cellular).

You’ll also learn why one “normal” result doesn’t automatically mean everything is optimal. Sometimes two imbalances can mask each other, and a single marker never tells the whole story.

If you’ve ever looked at your labs and felt confused, this lesson will help you think more clearly and confidently — without jumping to conclusions.

🎥 Watch the lesson and start seeing your labs as pieces of a bigger picture, not isolated numbers.
