have you seen my immune boosting protocol in my guide located under “Protocols” in the Resources section (here)? His body is clearly fighting something.

In that guide, I share my favorite remedies for sore throats (sucking on A.D.P emulsified oregano tablets, gargling/swallowing with Silver hydrosol, gargling/spitting with sole and turmeric, propolis spray)

And here’s my flaxseed cough remedy that works wonders (also in Protocols). It’s both a demulcent and an expectorant so it can help break up mucus.

For stubborn cases, NAC and glutathione have been shown in research to be very helpful with lung health.

Supporting overall immunity is also a good idea, and I share my protocol in the guide (short term high dose vit D, zinc, vitamin A).

    Hope he gets well soon!

when it’s e2, I like to start with Matula tea.

  • I can see and feel your confusion!! But you’re fortunate to be in a situation where 2 excellent functional doctors are providing you with their expertise. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of their protocols in terms of a heavy metal detox.

Both DMSA and DMPS are both synthetic pharmaceutical chelators that work very well to the point of being toxic themselves. So the important thing it to have a skilled doctor dosing it for you. I’m confident in both of their skills.

So ultimately, it boils down to cost and who you feel more comfortable with. I have clients who have worked with both so I feel you’re in safe hands with either doctor.

Dr. Lylia’s approach is also tackling a little bit of the dysbiosis with some other supplements, whereas Dr. Heather is simply focusing on the chelation at this point. However, perhaps it’s because Dr. Heather simply wants to focus on heavy metal cleansing now and she’s keeping it very simple and straightforward.

So like I said – look at the cost breakdown and listen to your gut feeling. Who do you trust. That will be the right answer.

Metals can really affect brain health and mood and this is often the first symptoms to improve after starting chelation treatments. Can’t wait for you to start this process and hear about your progress!!

I’m also tagging  who has experience in chelation therapy and can hopefully share his personal experience as well.

    • For zinc, I like the zinc/copper blends like the one by Jarrow called Zinc Balance. If you prefer liquid, there’s Metagenics Zinc Drink.
    • For vitamin A and D, I like the liquid ones by Biotics Research called Bio-ae and Bio-DK. Seeking Health makes a good one too for vitamin A, and vitamin D3/K2.
    • I like liposomal forms of vitamin C (Seeking Health, QuickSilver, Design for Health brands… many other brands).

To access the B Better dispensary and the links I shared, you’ll need to create an account with Fullscript and sign-in. Here’s a tutorial how to do that if you haven’t created one yet. I know you can’t access the videos but there’s text instructions beneath the video that you can follow as well.

Given that you have celiac disease, I’m assuming you’re on a dairy and gluten-free diet?

have you watched the video on supplements that support thyroid function? If not, here it is. Let me know if you have any other questions after watching it.

As for the supplements you posted. The digestive enzymes help break down your food better.

Betaine hydrochloride helps increase the acidity of the stomach (it should be acidic) to better break down proteins and absorb minerals better. However it doesn’t contain pepsin like the one by NOW brand which is the enzyme that helps breakdown proteins.

If you are considering taking betaine, make sure there is no H. Pylori overgrowth first. Signs could include acid reflux, burping/belching after meals or drinking water, stomach pains, gas/bloating, heartburn.

you can find information on Graves’ disease in the Thyroid Balance course here. In fact, I’d encourage you to watch the whole sections on Thyroid Autoimmunity and Thyroid Solutions where I discuss foods to support thyroid function, supplements, etc.

March 24, 2023 at 3:22 pm in reply to: OATS Test Results 22.3.23

there’s definite improvement overall. When you say you feel worse, what exactly feels worse? The stomach pains?

I believe you’re on the right track in terms of optimizing nutrient deficiencies. As Daniel mentioned, B6 can be better supported. Whole blood does not reflect cellular status so I would rely more on the OAT test results. When my clients need more B6, I usually recommend they switch their B complex to one that focuses more on B6 like Thorne’s B Complex #6 for example.

    B12 looks good.

Vitamin C is still low but improved.

Bacterial dysbiosis markers are high but also improved from the last test. This tells me that your gut immunity is strengthening and naturally taking care of the “unruly” opportunistic microbes.

Your markers #47 and 48 are high. These are byproducts of the alternative pathways for fatty acid oxidation – markers of dysfunction in the mitochondria’s attempt to use fats for fuel. We use a process called fatty acid oxidation to generate cellular ATP (fuel) from fats. And when there is a blockage in the body’s ability to do that, then alternative pathways can be used. If high, it means there’s could be a need for more carnitine, vitamin B2, and magnesium. They can also be high due to uncontrolled type 2 diabetes or a ketogenic diet since they focus on high fats.

Is your diet very high in fats?

Although there is an improvement in toxicity levels, there is still presence of toxicity and reduced glutathione. Stay on top of the mold inspectors to rule that out. But the fact that there is a reduction means your body is better processing/excreting whatever that toxic exposure may be.

I would continue to prioritize fat digestion as mentioned in previous posts by decongesting the biliary tract and ensuring you are not constipated – even if rapid relief measures are used like magnesium citrate for example. This helps with detoxification as well so please prioritize it.

Once that is in place, I would consider a parasite cleanse as the next step.

Hi  I believe this happened to another member recently. They were able to upload their tests as a reply to their original post. Please try that to see if that works, and if not, please take a screenshot and email support@bernadetteabraham.com for further technical assistance.

you’ll want a thorough visual inspection with moisture readings all over the house, an air sample (which includes both indoor and an outdoor sample for comparison), surface sampling (if there’s anything visible), and ERMI testing.

I know you said you would stop all of your supplements/medications before this test, but what were you taking please? Please list all supplements / medications.

Also, can you please list your top 5 symptoms to help us better analyze the results for you.

I also noticed that the anti-TPO result is still missing. Please let me know when it arrives.

Hi – your comment made my day! I’m so glad you’re enjoying UNJUNK.

I wish there was a company that provided organic pita bread, but unfortunately I haven’t found any yet. You’ll want to look at the ingredients and make sure it is simply whole wheat flour, water, yeast, and salt. No bread improver and no oil since it’s likely inflammatory vegetable/seed being used. We buy the Al Arz Bakery brand. Ideally, I wish they’d get organic whole wheat flour… maybe in time that will happen. I’m sure if we asked, they probably would.

Daniel gave you a great reply about how to prevent sugar spikes. Please watch my VPF principle video, and then analyze your smoothie. What is it lacking from my VPF principle? Let’s analyze it together:
    • Dates: Simple carb. I’m assuming these are dried dates, which are very high in sugar
    • Seeds: healthy fats – this will help reduce a sugar spike
    • Almond milk: healthy fat – this will help reduce a sugar spike
    • 2 bananas: simple carb. Also higher in sugar.
    • Peanut butter: healthy fat. Many people believe this is a source of protein, but it’s actually more fat than protein.
    • Frozen fruits: simple carbs. Source of sugar.

So if we analyze this smoothie (which I’m sure tastes great!), it is predominantly simple carbs and fats. So it’s lacking the V and P in the VPF principle. The fats will definitely help slow down the spike of sugar, but adding in some protein and a side vegetable for added fiber will make it even better.

For example, make it less sweet by eliminating the dates or the bananas. Keep the frozen berries (I’m assuming berries?). Add either a scoop of protein powder or have a side of boiled eggs or smoked salmon or sausage (or any protein of choice) with that smoothie, along with a favorite veggie like cucumbers or celery, etc. You can probably try adding fresh spinach, lettuce or frozen cauliflower to your smoothie for the added “V” (you can’t taste them!). There are so many combinations you can make when you apply the VPF principle.

But this principle will help you prevent sugar spikes.

    Hope this helps.

let us know your thoughts. Is this one low EMF? Sometimes sauna blankets don’t heat up enough. My favorites still remain walk-in saunas (if one can afford it and has the space), and the Therasage portable sauna.
