I’m so happy to hear that you’re feeling amazing! What type of food sensitivity test did you end up doing? Food elimination challenge or a blood test?

a brand of non-toxic SPF that you can consider is Cocokind. It’s non-nano zinc oxide which is what you want to be looking for in non-toxic sunscreens.

I’ve also created a list of non-toxic sunscreens on my Amazon page here for a list of other brands.

    glad you’re taking action!

Please do let us know what the tick report says. Who did you go with?

Homeopathy can be taken directly melted in the mouth. Best if it’s away from food by at least 30 mins.

     – I’m sorry to hear this. Please don’t panic. Not all ticks are disease carrying so let’s hope for the best. You’ve already done a great thing by carefully removing it and placing it in a plastic bag. I would also add a small damp paper towel in there too.

Where do you live? I suggest testing the tick as soon as possible as the next step, and seeking medical care to start prophylactic support “just in case”.

Here are 2 websites to consider mailing it to using a courier service:
    • Tick Report
    • Tick Check

For acute tick bites, here’s my go-to homeopathy protocol:

Ledum 30c, 3 to 4 doses per day until the bite looks 90% better or until fully resolves. 1 dose is 2 pellets.

Regardless of tick results, I would still test for lyme & co-infections in 5-6 weeks because antibodies against tick-borne infections take 4-6 weeks to show up on labs. Again, depending on where you live, I can share resources.

I don’t want to scare you but I do want you to be armed with the right information, and aware of the signs and symptoms to be looking out for over the next few days and months.

Early signs & symptoms to keep an eye out for:
A small, red bump, similar to the bump of a mosquito bite, often appears at the site of a tick bite or tick removal and resolves over a few days. This normal occurrence doesn’t indicate Lyme disease. However, these signs and symptoms can occur within a month after one has been infected:
    •  Rash: from 3-30 days after an infected tick bite, forming a bulls-eye pattern. It’s typically not itchy or painful but might feel warm to the touch. It is one of the hallmarks of Lyme disease, although not everyone with Lyme disease develops the rash. Some people develop this rash in more than one place on their bodies.
    • Other symptoms: fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headache, neck stiffness, and swollen lymph nodes can accompany the rash.

    Later signs and symptoms:

If untreated, new signs and symptoms of Lyme infection might appear in the following weeks to months. These include:

    • Rash: may appear on other areas of the body.
    • Joint pain: bouts of severe joint pain and swelling are especially likely to affect the knees, but the pain can shift from one joint to another.
    • Neurological problems: one might develop inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain (meningitis), temporary paralysis of one side of your face (Bell’s palsy), numbness or weakness in your limbs, and impaired muscle movement.

Hope this helps give some next steps to consider and symptoms to be aware of. Awaiting your reply on where you live.

ok good, glad you took the quiz. So before jumping to supplements, let’s help you figure out why upper GI is needing support.

First, digestion begins in the brain. Are you practicing good eating hygiene (here’s a handout)? Eating slowly, calmly, chewing thoroughly, away from phones and distractions? If you prefer a short video, you can watch this video which explains this simple but powerful starting point for better digestion.

I also recommend you watch this video to help you figure out why you might have low stomach acid which leads to Upper GI symptoms. Have you ever tested to see if you have an H Pylori overgrowth? Is it from low thyroid function? Is it chronic stress? Low zinc or B1?… please watch that video and let me know which root cause(s) you feel are at play in your situation so I can guide you on the next step.

this confirms that you need to work on supporting the digestive players first. I rarely have my clients start with a cleanse before doing some foundational work on digestion first.

Have you had a chance to watch any of the videos in the Gut Health Masterclass?

Can you share the gut symptoms you experience please. Better yet, please take my Gut Health quiz and let me know what your score is please. This will help me guide you better in terms of the type of digestive support or tests you should consider.

And you didn’t share. Have you ever measured your Total and Direct bilirubin? I’m curious to know your levels.

regarding NakedPoppy… correct, they do not ship outside of the US. Unfortunately, there are many companies that I love that don’t offer international shipping. To get around that problem, I use a mail forwarding service like Boxit4Me or Shop&Ship. They provide a US address that can be used during the payment process. That US address has a BOX number that is unique to you, so when the mail forwarding company receives your package, they re-direct it to you in Dubai at a fairly reasonable shipping rate. I usually have to add an extra $15-20 USD in shipping to my orders from NakedPoppy because of the weight. Hope that makes sense.

And stay tuned… Boxit4Me is going to be giving my audience a promo code soon for 2 free months membership + 15% cashback on shipping fees. They will be helping me ship and sell 100 copies of my book in the US and Canada, so I’m very grateful to them for doing that, and helping me spread UNJUNK further.

As for the red light product that I use and other products I love, you can check them out here in the Brands We Love handout, which also shares discount codes to many of these products.

As for microneedling, I do it myself. I bought the ZGTS derma roller. I can’t remember the size of the microneedles, but they’re short. Maybe 0.5mm. I roll the different areas of my face 5 x in the same spot (front and back or up and down – always in the same direction in the same spot). Then I spray my face with Active Skin Repair to soothe the skin, and do red light therapy. I don’t think the order matters, but it’s what I’ve been doing.

Hope this helps answer your questions!

Hi  – I’m glad to see you were able to post your question here in the free UNJUNK community! I think the payment page you were receiving was to access our private B Better community. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Below are some clean non-toxic options to consider:
    •  Badger: SPF 40 Baby Sunscreen. It’s thick, somewhat heavy with a herbal smell
    • ThinkBaby: SPF 30 Sunscreen Stick. It’s effective, it spreads easily but it’s not organic if that’s something you’re looking for.
    • Two Peas Organics: SPF 30 safe for baby sunscreen. It spreads easily, no odor, and effective for sun protection. But you must re-apply regularly especially after coming out of water.

    Hope this helps!

  • It was a good one!! If anyone has been curious about intermittent fasting, this helped clear up so many questions! It’s worth a listen.

May 24, 2023 at 10:16 am in reply to: Few Random Questions

    Hi

I am a minimalist when it comes to my skincare routine, so I do go through periods where I use absolutely nothing, and just rinse my face with water. But when I use a cleanser, I use Odacite (they’re also on NakedPoppy’s site).

However lately, I have been consistently using NakedPoppy’s facial oil in the morning, and their retinol at night, and I’ve been LOVING them both! My face feels so hydrated, and the slight pigmentation from the melasma I developed a few years ago when my hormones started going wonky thanks to perimenopausal shifts, have reduced significantly. I got B Better members an exclusive 15% discount (code BEBETTER15 for 15% off when you spend $50 or more). Otherwise you can use BERNADETTE for 10% off.

I also love Odacite as another brand of skincare and rotate between them.

Besides products, I also do red light therapy regularly and micro-needling maybe once every 2 weeks, after which I spray Active Skin Repair (discount code also in the Brands We Love document) to help with the skin healing. I swear this works!!

The Nori sheets I buy are these ones at Organic Foods & Cafe.

Maple syrup… I used to bring back a big 5L jug of maple syrup back with me every summer. Now I purchase them off Amazon.ae – make sure it’s organic. They come in glass and plastic jugs. We use maple syrup quite a bit at home, so it’s more affordable in plastic jugs.

Lastly – dry lips. Let’s help you address the root cause of that please! If it doesn’t go away once you swap out your lip balm, do you consume healthy fats consistently with every meal? Have you ever tested your liver function? I’d be curious to see your total and direct bilirubin markers specifically. This can give a clue about the health of the biliary tract, which is needed to emulsify our fats so we can digest and absorb them. Healthy fats are essential for good quality skin. Food sensitivities can also lead to dry lips. Of course, there are many more reasons, but these are the most common to start with.

I personally use the lip balm called Lip Whip – cinnamon by Kari Gran. I also love it. I received it as a trial bundle from SwellScore (B Better members receive a 1-year membership free) but for some reason it’s not on their website anymore.

    Hope these recommendations help!

May 24, 2023 at 6:24 am in reply to: Blood Test Results Arranged By The Rheumatologist

I’m glad to see the improvements in blood chemistry. This is probably due to the fact that you’ve been supporting the gut lining for a while now, and therefore improving overall nutrient absorption. I would encourage you to speak to your doctor about starting a weaning protocol to very slowly start getting you off of your acid suppressing meds if you’ve addressed the low-positive H Pylori with Matula tea. Did you ever pursue the tea or other type of anti-H Pylori support?

The low protein absorption from suppressing stomach acid and poor digestion will lead to poor synthesis of serotonin which will affect gastro motility, pain perception, impulse control, etc. This remains a priority for you.

It’s also apparent to me that a parasite cleanse is still warranted based on the higher Eosinophil count (I like to see it <1%), as well as a need for liver support due to the liver enzymes nearing 30 U/L. Did you end up taking the D-limonene to help with biliary tract decongestion?

Are you still constipated? If so, have you seen our newly released Constipation Relief program? Give it a try! Even if you have to use rapid relief measures (which I share in the program) to achieve a daily bowel movement, this remains a priority.

In terms of the pain you are experiencing in your hands in the morning, I'm glad to see there's no pathology. As I had mentioned in a previous thread, feeling pain in the joints in the mornings usually has to do with a low cortisol awakening response and immune complex build-up in joints from food sensitivities. Cortisol is our natural anti-inflammatory hormone in the body. This is why doctors prescribe "cortisone" shots for sore joints, but they only offer temporary relief (and often worsen the situation over time by further suppressing endogenous cortisol production).

I know you like to pursue testing, so if there was 1 test I would recommend next, it would be a DUTCH Plus to see your cortisol production and rhythm throughout the day. Based on those results, you can know how to support your adrenal function. However, given the fact that you've been struggling with chronic symptoms for years, I can confidently assume that your CAR is low in the morning, as is your cortisol level throughout the day. In these types of situations, I often skip testing and recommend that my clients take an Adrenal glandular like Biotics Cytozyme-AD (2 upon rising and 2 mid-morning) for 2-3 months to help "give their adrenals a vacation" so to speak while working to address root causes.

Have you seen the newly released “B Better Programs”? Our first released program is Constipation Relief. This should be your priority!! Whatever is causing your constipation might be contributing to higher histamine levels/migraines since DAO enzyme needed to breakdown histamine is produced in the gut.

This program takes you step by step to figure out the root cause while providing you with rapid relief solutions. Do let me know how it goes!!

Hi Sheetal – then no, you can save some money and get the DUTCH Adrenal only test instead of DUTCH Plus which looks at everything including cortisol awakening response.
