ďťżďťż would the doctor say it’s similar to having swimmer’s ear? If so, I share a protocol for that here.

But more importantly, let’s help you figure out why your son is having sinus congestion. Often, this could be a food sensitivity.

Have you tried eliminating dairy for example from his diet for at least 30 days to see if this improves his symptoms? Dairy is very mucous producing.

Knowing that you were affected by mold, could this also be affecting your son? Mold spores have an affinity for the sinuses and lungs.

June 1, 2023 at 12:17 pm in reply to: Coffee enema

which brand of coffee did you use?

It’s normal not to have a bowel movement a day or so after the enema. If it persists however beyond 2 days, then you can resort to rapid relief remedies for constipation which I share here inside the Gut Health Masterclass course. Rehydrating is critically important after an enema. Did you see the “pro tips” on p.4 of the enema handout?

And if constipation persists, I would highly recommend doing the Constipation Relief program to help you determine the root cause.

June 1, 2023 at 11:03 am in reply to: Dizziness during periods

wait at least 2 weeks after your period for iron testing. Do everything on a 12-hour overnight fast, only water allowed. Go in on a day that you’re not stressed or in a rush as it will impact fasting glucose.

And ask them to change it from random glucose to fasting glucose along with fasting insulin and HbA1c.

did the sole help at all? Does the dizziness get better with food?

I would ask to add fasting insulin as well as ferritin if it’s not already included in the iron deficiency panel but I would particularly interested in seeing a full iron panel since you eat a vegan diet.

    It consists of:

    Total iron
    Ferritin
    TIBC
    % saturation

    Hi
    – for now as rapid relief, have you tried rehydrating with electrolytes (ex. Humantra or sole) or coconut water in case of dehydration?

Do you know your current iron/ferritin levels? What is your diet like these days? Vegan or do you consume animal proteins?

May 31, 2023 at 5:29 pm in reply to: Recurrent croup

Hi – croup is a viral infection so if it’s recuring, definitely focus on supporting his immune status in general. Since the majority of our immune system lies in the gut, the health of his gut microbiome is key as it influences our immune system.

Does he complain of any GI symptoms that would indicate possible dysbiosis (imbalance in gut microbes) or issues with overall digestion?  Has he taken a course or more of antibiotics in his young life without proper replenishment of fermented foods and/or probiotics? Does he complain of constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating, indigestion, heartburn, etc? Let me know and I can recommend some tests based on your feedback.

I prefer avoiding blood tests with young kids, but testing immune nutrients vitamin D, vitamin A, and RBC zinc could help determine his levels and if supplementation is needed. But again, I prefer a food-first approach with children, and instead prefer recommending daily sun exposure (min 30 mins) and including more animal proteins (for zinc) or organ meats (for zinc and vitamin A). Cod liver oil supplementation can also provide a good dose of omega-3, vitamin A and vitamin D. It can be added to smoothies or juice/lemon to help mask the taste.

In the event he does get sick, here’s the go-to protocol I use for my kids to help support overall immune function.

Now for croup specifically, homeopathy works brilliantly as well. Here’s a great article sharing which remedy to use depending on the situation, and how to administer it.

You can also look at this herbal blend formula which is designed for chronic coughs and chest congestion for children and adults. Steam baths and vaporizers are also helpful. Together with immune support, this should really help.

May 31, 2023 at 2:58 pm in reply to: Migraines

    glad you’re taking action!

Ok, based on these results, you’ll notice that zinc is on the lower end of the reference range. This definitely needs to be boosted. My question however before supplementation is, why is your zinc low? Do you eat animal proteins or are you vegetarian? Here’s a video in the Mineral Balance course on risk factors for zinc deficiency to consider. Please watch it and let me know if any of these root causes resonate with you. For example, if you are eating ample animal proteins in your diet, how is your stomach acid? We need good strong stomach acid to absorb our zinc. If you suspect this may be an issue, I can share a video on how to test stomach acid. But 1 step at a time. First please watch the video, and let me know what resonates with you.

Next, your vitamin D should also be boosted. It’s on the lower end of the “deficient” reference range. Do you get regular sun exposure? We also need ample amounts of magnesium to convert vitamin D into its final form in the kidneys. And since your magnesium is also on the lower end of the reference range, this could be a factor. If you’re following the migraine protocol, I’m going to assume you’ve started boosting magnesium glycinate.

Here’s a handout that can help with dosing for vitamin D. I typically recommend clients take 5,000IU vitamin D3/K2 combo for a few months, but only after at least 2 weeks of magnesium replenishment. I like Seeking Health’s liquid D3/K2 or Biotics Research Bio-DK mulsion.

In terms of your CBC panel, your Eosinophils are slightly elevated. I like to see it <1%. This can indicate either environmental allergies/sensitivities, asthma, and/or parasites. Seeing that you have random migraines and not really sure of the trigger, have you ever run a food sensitivity IgG test before? This is different to an allergy test (IgE) which looks at immediate immune reactions. An IgG test is a delayed immune reaction… sometimes 5 days later which makes it really hard to pin point!

I would recommend that you explore food sensitivity testing with a KBMO FIT test. You can find instructions and more info about that here in the resources.

    Hope this helps!

May 29, 2023 at 11:58 am in reply to: Varicose veins

Hi  – have you seen this handout on Varicose Veins in the Symptom Dictionary as a starting point?

Regarding cellulite: it depends on your skin type, the connective tissues that separate fat cells into compartments, and the amount of body fat that you have.

Men tend to have thicker skin than women, which makes cellulite less visible in men than in women.

As a result, even slim women are prone to developing cellulite as they age, largely due to the skin becoming thinner over time.

And to add insult to injury, while men tend to have horizontal or crisscross patterns, women’s fat pockets tend to be shaped like honeycombs, giving fat a greater chance to protrude or bulge under the skin when weight is gained.

So men are clearly more advantageous when it comes to battling cellulite.

Exercise decreases the odds of developing cellulite because it helps keep your body fat percentage within a normal range and strengthens your muscles, which both result in smoother looking skin.

Any exercise & nutrition program that leads to fat loss and reduces the amount of stored fat will diminish the dimpling to some extent. Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes.

Also, it’s just a normal part of being human so if you’re doing all the right things, then I often tell my clients to learn to love themselves, lumps and all!

May 28, 2023 at 10:10 am in reply to: Insulin resistance and flours

    Hi
correct, anything in flour form is to be limited. While coconut & lentil flours are better choices than grain flour for reversing metabolic dysfunction, it’s still processed into a flour which is predigested and more easily absorbed into the bloodstream. Plus, it encourages the same eating behaviour by simply replacing one flour with another. Eating food in its whole form is recommended.

 yes, a single dose of a 200c is usually enough to trigger an immune response. If the symptoms are present then the remedy can be repeated.
