Hi – as a general rule of thumb for eczema, here is my checklist of  what needs to be optimized:
    • Vitamin D, A and RBC zinc (have you checked your levels?)
    • Remove gluten & dairy, and very often grains too. (it can’t be a little here and there, it has to be 100% elimination for 6 months+ while address gut dysfunctions. Have you watched the Gut Health Masterclass yet?)
    • Ensure detox pathways are open (is constipation an issue?)
    • Heal intestinal lining (Gut Health Masterclass has a section on gut healing with many recommendations)
    • Healthy fatty acid balance (omega-3 to omega-6 ratio). And realize that gallbladder health plays a role here too since we need bile to absorb our fats! If you haven’t yet watched the Fatty Acid Balance course or Gut Health Masterclass, please make time for those. It’s critical for cell membrane integrity and skin health.
    • Remove any other food sensitivities. Need to calm the immune system. (if finance allows, consider a food sensitivity test)

You can see that much of it goes back to the gut and immunity. Other than removing dairy/gluten/sugar, what else have you tried with regards to optimizing digestion and gut health so I can help you troubleshoot? Have you done any comprehensive functional stool tests?

You can also read through the Eczema fact sheet in the Symptom Dictionary if you haven’t seen that yet.

With regards to the skin bumps you’re experiencing, please go see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis, and please keep us posted!

are you logging into the B Better dispensary? I just checked and your name isn’t listed there. But I did see your name listed in my private dispensary where I share a few products with the public through my Instagram link. So perhaps you’re accessing Fullscript through that account or another practitioner’s account? I would suggest logging out, and accessing B Better’s dispensary here to access the full catalogue and discount: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/bbetterbybernadette

Please let me know if that helps.

are you logging into the B Better dispensary? Perhaps you have access to other practitioner’s accounts and you’re logged into the incorrect one? Please try logging out, and logging back into here: https://us.fullscript.com/welcome/bbetterbybernadette

Please let me know if that works.

I believe in a mother’s instincts. If you feel something is off or abnormal, please take him to see a pediatrician.

Increased thirst and increased urinary frequency is often a hallmark sign of type 1 diabetes but it can also be involved in other diabetic dynamics as the body tries to urinate to bring blood sugar levels down.

Low cortisol levels can also lead to ongoing thirst and increased urination because of difficulty maintaining cellular hydration.

There could be other reasons as well, so it’s important to get him properly checked first. Please do keep us updated.

that’s strange. I just clicked the link and took me right to the product page. Ok, let’s try to troubleshoot this:

Click on Catalog, then scroll down a bit to find “Brands”. Click on it. You’ll get a dropdown with all the brands available. Click on the little arrow <>in the top right corner of that space, and it should give you a list of the brands available in alphabetical order.

From my side, I see 276 brand options. Do you see that as well? And I also see the Allimax Neutraceuticals. See screenshot below:

I assume you’re asking about the brand. Honestly, I get what we have available here in the pharmacies in Dubai.

I have the Magnesium Phosphoricum 6X (Shuessler Salt No. 7). The bottle says its manufactured by Adler Pharma (made in Austria) and distributed by UltraPharma in Dubai.

    Hope that helps!

Ok, so allergic rhinitis can be triggered by environmental allergies, such as seasonal, animal, toxins (mold), or it can also be triggered by eating a certain food, such as dairy.

So more questions coming your way and I would for sure do a 100% elimination trial of dairy first since it is mucous forming. This may resolve his symptoms entirely.

Other than the recent congestion and cough though, does he / did he experience any other symptoms? Did he have reflux as a baby? Have you started giving him any new supplements recently (other than the immune supportive ones). Fermented food or cod liver oil intake by any chance? I’m trying to see if histamine might be at play.

In terms of rapid relief for the cough, have you tried my flaxseed remedy? It’s unbelievably effective for both wet & dry coughs.

As a rapid relief for allergies/congestion, here are my favorites and reasons why:

Quercetin (a natural anti-histamine): Quercetin actually calms the immune system to reduce or prevent histamine release.

Stinging nettle leaf (not root): It’s also has ‘antihistamine’  action because it makes histamine receptors less sensitive.  Because of this mode of action, I tend to use stinging nettle as a synergistic, additive pairing with an antihistamine like quercetin (vs. an agent on its own).

I don’t think Butterbur would be suitable for your son (I think he’s less than 6 years right?) but just wanted to mention it as it might help other B Better members reading this. This one has actually been formally studied and found to be just as effective as Zyrtec at treating seasonal allergy symptoms.  Unlike quercetin, butterbur is helpful because it is an anti-spasmodic remedy. Phytochemicals in butterbur relax swollen nasal membranes and alleviate muscle spasms in the respiratory system.  When our immune system reacts to a perceived “foreign invader” (like an allergen), our cells produce  inflammatory signaling molecules called leukotrienes (which usually happens in concert with the production of histamine, as mentioned above).  Leukotrienes trigger spasms in the trachea which can help us to cough – to expel undesirable substances.  Overproduction of leukotrienes, however, causes major inflammation in the respiratory system in the case of asthma and allergy. Butterbur simply interferes with the production of leukotrienes. Short-term use (3-4 mos) is generally regarded as quite safe; long-term use has not been studied.   Note that butterbur is not suitable for pregnant or breast-feeding women (or for very young children less than six years of age).  A typical therapeutic adult dose of butterbur extract is about 200mg/day (divided into an AM and PM dose for greater absorption).  Mild headache or stomach ache may be side effects of butterbur and can be best avoided by taking it on a full stomach.  Before you ask:  yes, in very tough cases, it would be quite synergistic to pair these three agents together.

I like to use food therapy with children, so consider trying my Onion Peel & Stinging Nettle Leaf infusion as another measure for rapid relief. Here’s the post I made on Insta showing how to make it.

Ok, let’s keep this conversation going. I’ve got more things I can add, but will wait to hear from you first.

Hi  – first off, she’s lucky to have you in her life guiding her.

When someone’s digestion is that sensitive and compromised, the body will quickly go into a catabolic state, especially at her age, so the goal should be to find a way to maximize her hydration and nutrition without upsetting her already very inflamed gut.

Would she consider liquid meal replacements in the meantime? It’s not cheap but Liquid of Hope is a brand I have recommended before, which was formulated for those needing good, clean, organic feeding tube formula or oral meal replacements.

If cost is an issue or it’s not accessible, then consider liquid and mashed meals. Adult baby food in essence; blended soups and puréed meals. Again, the goal is to increase her nutrition & hydration while giving her digestive system a break.

In the Gut Health Masterclass, I also share my favorite gut healing therapies. GI Revive powder for example is an excellent multi-herbal formula that can easily be blended in water and taken on an empty stomach twice per day for 60-90 days. The goal is to support the integrity of the gut lining and help reduce inflammation.

Also given her age, there is a high chance of an H Pylori overgrowth. If testing isn’t available, I’ve recommended a box of Matula Tea to clients before taken preventatively for a month or two.

In terms of NSAID replacement for pain relief. I like the combination of Meriva curcumin, omega-3, and boswellia.

Hope this is a helpful start.

quick questions before I share some additional thoughts and suggestions. Does he consume dairy and gluten? Knowing that you suffered with mold illness, did you ever run a MycoTox test for him as well?

it’s a bile salt so I do like TUDCA when the liver is struggling to produce enough bile salts to help with emulsification of fats and detoxification of toxins.

I share many other options for liver/gallbladder support with an explanation of when each is warranted towards the end of the Gut Health Masterclass. Have you seen that yet?

it’s a strong anti-microbial so it’s not advised to be taking it  preventatively like d-mannose for example as it will disrupt the gut microbiome if taken longer term.

For sensitive individuals, yes, a low and slow approach over 3 days is always a safer bet.

if doing them yearly, my preference is in the spring time. I think the whole “spring cleaning” tradition goes back to Chinese medicine philosophies.

September 20, 2022 at 2:17 am in reply to: Hi! Have you found any successful relief for Vertigo?

Hi – just like any symptom, finding and addressing the root cause is key.

With chronic vertigo, I’ve seen a connection with mold toxicity and/or histamine issues (from mold, heavy metals, dysbiosis, etc).

Does mold illness resonate with you? I will be filming a course on mold but in the meantime, here is a symptom form created by my teacher Dr. Jill Crista to help determine the possibility of mold being at play from a subjective, not diagnostic point of view. If her symptom collection points to a high probability of mold illness, then additional testing like a MycoTox test can be considered.

With regards to histamine, Dr. Ben Lynch will be our guest expert in December and the focus will be on histamine. Histamine overload can lead to dizziness and vertigo. If histamine is at play, she’d probably experience relief by trying one of Seeking Health’s histamine intolerance products. And if it does bring her relief, then continuing to work on gut health, dysbiosis and methylation support (B6 is a key player in the breakdown of histamine) while adopting a low histamine diet (i.e. avoid leftovers, fermented foods & histamine-producing probiotics for example) temporarily would be the focus to address the “root cause”.

In terms of rapid relief, I know you mentioned it’s not due to crystals, but has she tried the Epley maneuver to see if that helps?

Another therapy which I know about but don’t have experience with is called neurological insole technology. Colleagues of mine who have patients with vertigo have said it works amazingly well. Might be worth investigating this technology further.

    Hope this helps!

so a few issues to keep in mind:

    1. The source of water – spring water is best. Check your bottle! The Hydration pillar inside the Beginner’s Health Roadmap discusses the different sources of water and the different labels you’ll see in the stores.

    2. Carbonation can interrupt digestive function for some people so consume it away from meals (it at least 2 hours after a meal).

    3. Avoid flavors. Some sparkling waters come flavored. This mysterious ingredient can be synonymous for MSG so I avoid it as much as possible, unless I actually call up the company and inquire about the mystery “flavor”.

    Hope this helps!

not that I’ve come across… majority have immunomodulating potential so they are in fact beneficial.
