Could you please recommend brands for the HCL, digestive bitters, bile acids, and digestive enzymes, the doses and how I would need to incorporate them with DGL, PPI around meals?
Currently I take PPI on an empty stomach, wait an hour. Then dgl 20 minutes before eating or drinking.
Gaviscon advance if I feel the throat pain burning worsen. I can’t tell I have acid, only by the pain in stomach or throat when it’s too late.

Hi, thank you for all the information. I had three tests for h pylori in both testing forms and all was negative. Thyroid test came back normal, I supplement with multivitamins daily but I don’t believe I’ve ever had vitamins tested as it wasn’t on insurance. From others experience, rebound should calm down as the body adjusts to the lower dose in 2-3 weeks time, I feel going back up a dose will only lead to the same issue when I drop down again? Unless the supplements you mentioned may prevent all the new proton pumps starting up? From my limited understanding, PPI shut down the proton pumps, so when coming off PPI, the body produces new ones, but in excess, causing too much acid. I am just adding in slippery elm capsules but will use the powder and water so it coats the throat. I would only have 1 flare up a year and have stomach pain, never a sore throat and that was because I was eating trigger foods like spicy and was unaware I had any acid issues to be mindful of. I will go through all the recommended information. I saw a new gastro yesterday and the first mention before looking at my history was “ we need to look at keeping you on meds to deal with the issue” – he couldn’t tell me what the issue even was, but happy to give more meds. Absolutely shocking.
