<p>When he was a child he frequently got infections in his tonsils and had enlarged adenoids as well which according to the ENT doctors was causing mouth breathing and obstructive sleep apnea in him. <p>So I&#8217;ve successfully lowered my H pylori following natural anti microbials. I found a functional practitioner so I could start the BETAINE HCL under her guidance but there are some things in her recommendations that are confusing me.</p>

<p>In the h.pylori protocol it mentions to take baking soda in water 30 minutes before taking mastic gum, to draw the bacteria out.</p>
</p>
<p>My confusion is, if we already have low acid due to h pylori, wouldn&#8217;t adding baking soda to the mix further lower the pH since baking soda is alkaline?</p>
