Good luck with your detox program! I always tell my clients to have a good preparation! A detox program is great, but if there is some form of exposure present, taking away that exposure is the first step. The good news is that this platform is a pretty good resource for acid reflux, GERD and Barret’s Oesophagus! When the oesophagus is exposed to stomach acid on a regular base, the oesophagus gets inflamed. My husband was diagnosed with Barrett’s esophagus. Generally I believe he was told that this valve or sphincter is not closing properly and so he has acid reflux and GERD. No ulcers, thankfully. He is now taking medicine but long term he wants to change his diet to manage things better without a lot… Read more

I’m starting my January clean detox (just like last year based on this book as it worked very well). As part of the diet I’ll be having lots of smoothies including chlorophyll.
Any consideration you would highlight?

Getting enough iron and protein can be a challenge on a plant-based or/and with certain other conditions like hypochlorhydria. It sounds like you’ve already explored several things! I hope you will feel better soon.
