I just wanted to add an inquiry please, so while searching for answers, I referred back to the the Seeking Health DAO leaflet and wanted to see if you advice that I should do this- could it be that I need this Glutathione addition and Magnesium or it has nothing to do with this?
Thank you

Thankfully yesterday was noticeably calmer, I didn’t take anything at all.
What keeps standing out to me is how much my gut state continues to affect everything, when my gut is calmer, my whole system feels stable, especially mentally, and when it flares I am completely dysregulated again. A vicious cycle.
Now I’m unsure about the order of reintroducing everything again, how long to wait between each, or what sequence makes the most sense for my system, I mentally calm then my gut acts up, I do something and it’s back at it, dysregulating again and then pause and back at it and it’s been too long and I am just exhausted from it all.
My iron and B12 have really taken a hit even further the last two weeks, the symptoms of low levels are showing up aggressively, and I’m not sure how to address that or everything else.
I would appreciate any advice on how to handle this- safe paced reintroduction?
I can’t seem to catch a break and that on it’s own is just constantly affecting me mentally so much. I don’t know what I am doing wrong or right anymore.
Thank you again and again!

Yes, your advice and guidelines help a lot, thank you! I’m just feeling a little further confused now.
The thing is, many of the symptoms you mentioned for low histamine are already present for me in general, so it’s hard to determine what’s new or related. Since taking DAO, I’ve noticed the sour taste in my mouth increase, dizziness came back aggressive today (low BP all day today), and a bout of diarrhea, which is why I’m extra unsure. I’m also wondering if pausing DGL and Zinc Carnosine yesterday could be a contributor, or if this could be a possible gut shift and that’s it.
It’s feeling a bit overwhelming to interpret right now.
I don’t know if I say this enough but your patience with me and my inquiries is extremely appreciated and I’m so grateful.

Good morning,
I wanted to share my experiences with DAO over the past two days, including some unexpected dizziness today, if you could help me interpret what’s happening please.
I experimented with DAO and noticed something shift almost immediately. I took it once away from food before yesterday and felt okay and again with food in the evening, but that didn’t feel good at all, maybe because my diet is already low histamine and I had taken DGL and Zinc carnosine earlier in the day, yesterday, I completely paused everything and only took DAO in the morning on an empty stomach an hour before breakfast and I honestly haven’t had a quiet calm morning like this in a VERY long time and I felt noticeably calmer mentally all day, I also took it in an hour before lunch, some discomfort after lunch time but it passed, I crashed a little later and felt my whole energy dip but there was still something calmer, also took it in the evening again shortly after dinner, the only thing that stood out was I got quite dizzier since lunchtime more than normal however still calmer day mentally overall yesterday and only really dizzy and this morning too. I’m not sure if this is related to the DAO or something else, but I thought it was important to note and due to this decided to eat breakfast today before taking DAO altogether as I was very dizzy. I don’t know if that means the DAO was too much or if pausing the DGL and Zinc Carnosine completely yesterday had an effect. I also noticed lots of pinching post breakfast today. The choice to take DAO away from food was following the leaflets advice of taking it for suspected SIBO or else and your advice to calm the flare which has calmed a lot.
My question is, would it be the right approach to for the next day or two to only take DAO and also pause DGL and Zinc Carnosine? I am kind of experimenting right now without aggravating my digestion to see what I am tolerating. I would like to know how many times per day can I safely take DAO and in my case specifically is it best taken empty stomach between meals? The leaflet doesn’t give clear guideline of a limited amount or something.
Also, since Quercetin is next in line, I’d like to ask about the dosage as well. I have the Thorne Quercetin Phytosome (250 mg). How much should I take and how many times per day? And should I even take Quercitin before making sure that I am back to taking DGL, bitters, enzymes and carnosine or it doesn’t really matter? And are they all eventually safe to take altogether?
Thank you again for everything, your guidance really makes a huge difference for me, and I appreciate it.

Thank you. I appreciate both your help and patience with me. Will figure out a way to slowly put it all together to eventually have them all on board again soon enough.

Daniel, thank you so much for your thoughtful and calm message. I really do appreciate the care behind everything you wrote.
The only thing I’m still struggling with is that I’m in an active histamine flare right now, and it’s not settling at all. Even after taking the Histaminum LM2 and feeling mentally calmer, the physical flare hasn’t shifted. My system still feels extremely heightened, and that’s why I was asking for more immediate guidance on what I can start today, to help take the edge off this reaction as rapid relief.
I fully understand the slower sequencing of DAO → quercetin → ProBiotaX, but I don’t know which one is safe and appropriate to start immediately to calm my system in this moment as rapid relief. That’s the piece I really need clarity on.
Right now the flare is affecting me quite intensely:
– electric like heat and flushing in my head
– face puffiness, itching and a rash
– lips burning, tingling pins and needles everywhere
– palpitations that aren’t stopping
– abdominal discomfort and bloating and pinching
– brain fog and cognitive difficulty, minimal sleep, elevated anxiety of course and irritability
It’s been difficult to manage and that’s why I’ve been waiting for the DAO, quercetin and ProBiotaX, hoping they would at least take the edge off a little.
Emotionally, it really is me. My baseline anxiety has been higher these months with the withdrawal, and the gut disruption has affected me mentally drastically. The last two weeks especially have shaken me because I was supposed to be moving countries to just start again and pick up my life after a year of taking a break and couldn’t do it because I am neither mentally or physically well and it was a heavy reality to face, the restrictive diet for so long is draining me, my gut health is really affecting me and I have been home for months doing nothing but trying to solve my health mentally and physically and this histamine flare just isn’t calming down and I really didn’t need it and it’s like a loop that’s draining me between me trying to find answers and fixing and falling and so forth. So yeah I guess that’s a round up of what’s going on, so generally the struggle is I’m just trying to be okay to be able to get back to living and I’m not. I have the most supportive people around me thankfully however it’s really coming from the inside and I understand that mental health directly impacts the physical health however I am trying to ease the physical a little on myself and it’s just so exhausting to keep being told it’s in my mind while doing everything I can and still not finding relief having to deal with both. Sorry I overshared but that’s where I am emotionally. Thank you for asking really.
If you could please guide me on what I can safely begin immediately today to help bring this flare down until the longer plan can take effect?
Thank you again, I really appreciate all the help.

Yes it does a lot!
Thank you so much.

Yes thankfully I am able to regain the mental calm faster this time, the homeopathic remedy slightly helped, been at it to try and calm the flare. Looked into the rice milk kefir- I can get live milk kefir grains, however not the Prebio- she does say to use raw sugar instead, is that okay to use? I would like to make this after reading the benefits. And if you could also let me know- how much sugar as an alternative for Prebio please? Unfortunately haven’t found Yakult brand here but will look further.
My next inquiry is yes I do feel like my current symptoms unfolding the last two days seem to be slowly moving into what I had felt before with SIBO, fullness too fast while still eating, lots of overstimulation, constipation, certain abdominal discomfort too and flatulence that’s not pleasant, there isn’t active pain but more like just uncomfortable feeling of fullness and like my abdomen is knotted or dull, with this difficulty to swallow, I am not sure if that’s because I have dropped the dgl, bitters and enzymes, carnosine to once a day meanwhile or else, it reminds me of the SIBO phase slightly, I am wondering if along with everything else if I should go into treating SIBO? I am a little confused now.
Thank you!

Thank you for that! Will definitely be asking soon once they arrive how to incorporate them into my routine.
The article you attached is excellent and that’s what makes me wonder truly- this cycle I’m stuck in between this sudden histamine/ SIBO/ IBS cycle- while yes stress is the driver however in all honesty the same stress I’ve been under hasn’t changed, I’ve always been withdrawing however never had this intensity of gut issues- if anything with all the nervous system work and emotional healing there has been a lot of change mentally but my gut isn’t getting there and it seems to drive a lot of issues for me- I just keep feeling there is something missing in my gut that needs targeting further- I’m just thinking that do I have to go back now to the healing food phase with slippery elm or else from gut healing therapies or is what I’m doing now- DGL, Enzymes, Bitters, Zinc Carnosine and upon arrival in a few days- adding DAO, Probiotic and Quercitin will take me to that level of improvement? I am calmer mentally the last month or so after giving my gut that push but still something keeps going off from my gut and even now after this blip this week, however my gut seems to constantly be at play driving lots of discomfort, sorry I keep asking about this, I just want to understand if there’s anything more I can do or add or is there a piece of the puzzle I’m missing? I know there’s all these nutrients that need to be added to the equation but how am I supposed to get there if food continues to cause irritation? Not sure anymore. It’s never been this intense for me in my gut again and again.

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your help! The last few months have shook me to my core and I just feel that no matter how much progress I make I keep going back to my gut and how it’s affecting me overall, unfortunately I seemingly started to carry all my stress and emotions in my gut. I am also starting to believe that a lot of these symptoms are mold related as I stayed at my parents house this past year and the symptoms showing up few months ago- I see more mold now and with withdrawal stress causing my system to just go into extreme panic and stress- I just want to help my gut get stronger because I believe most of the serotonin and the our overall health is from the gut health.
I’m slowly trying to regain strength and you sending this message now really makes me feel less lonely in this and I appreciate it so much.
The palpitations have been out of control, the brain fog and dizziness and the sensitivity in my gut is just draining again and I am trying not to spiral into what happened a few months ago after coming so far. I just want to eat normal food again. It’s been months.
I took the Histaminum in LM2 this morning hoping for some relief and about to order the supplements too. The RTT shook me further yes as it’s intense but I’m continuing nervous system regulation every day, but this abdominal discomfort is draining me.
I just added the ProBiota HistaminX by seeking health now to the order, they have something else called histamine nutrients- is that necessary or is getting DAO and Probiotia enough? I also added the Quercitin Phytosome by Thorne- not sure if that makes the list now good enough or is Quercitin alongside these even necessary?
I will also watch the interview and look into the handout and wait for how to make it and will make it as well and the rice milk kefir.
You have helped me more than you can imagine and having this platform is truly so comforting and helpful. Thank you thank you thank you.

Got it!
I’ll follow my body’s cues for now and keep things very simple until I feel fully stable again.
I spoke to my homeopath and he recommended Histaminum, however was holding back to avoid any further aggravation.
Since things take a bit of time to arrive where I am, I just wanted to ask now so I can order what I may need on hand. I’ll order the DAO and Quercetin Phytosome for now, and look into the stinging nettle/onion peel infusion and take things as they go.
Definitely focusing on the nervous system work as a top priority!
I really appreciate all the suggestions.
Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for the clarity and reassurance!
I want to ask if pausing the supplementation is okay or dropping down while I am still not feeling so great, my digestion slows too and when taking them yesterday for example I felt even further dizziness and discomfort (heaviness in abdomen). How do I come around this and decide to take or not, although the stress effect has also caused me to go back into irregular bowel movements and wanted to check this with you if to continue regardless or cut down from thrice a day to once or twice till I fully settle? And especially regarding bitters, I cut them directly when the flare started, should I just got back as that could play a role in the bowel movement?
I’m planning to order DAO and Quercetin to target the histamine as I don’t feel it has fully cleared and the symptoms are just up and down, and I wanted to ask:
-
What’s the best form of Quercetin to get (regular or phytosome)? I saw in one of the protocols or programs not sure now, the Thorne one so wanted to check if it’s a yes, and I locally found the Solary Quercitin (500mg)?
-
How should I use DAO with meals, when to take it and how many? Will get the DAO Enzyme by Seeking Health.
- Should I start DAO first, or Quercetin?
- Given all this, should I start with Selenium or pause till the flare fully settles?
- I also want to ask if probiotics or vitamins would help as well?- My food intake has been so limited for too long, it’s affecting my overall function really that I felt even with improved overall digestion there was constant weakness, sluggishness, brain fog and fatigue that has now been worsened very evidently the last few days, any advice on how to tackle this?
Thank you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to lay everything out so clearly, this really helps me feel more confident and grounded in the process and timeline ahead.
I’ll continue with the bitters and enzymes for now and move on to DGL, and later zinc-carnosine if needed, before bringing in selenium once my digestion feels stable.
I’ll be taking some time now to focus fully on healing and integrating everything we’ve discussed, and will reach back out if and when I need further guidance. I truly appreciate the thoughtful support, patience, guidance and clarity I’ve received, it’s made a big difference in helping me move forward with more confidence and calm.
All the best,
R

Thank you for laying things out so clearly!
I wanted to share my most recent thyroid and selenium results as you asked:
• TSH: 1.00 µIU/mL
• Free T4: 1.33 ng/dL
• Free T3: 1.70 pg/mL- I understand this is slightly below normal
• Anti-TPO antibodies: 12.7 IU/mL
• Anti-Thyroglobulin antibodies: 18.8 IU/mL
• Selenium: 79.4 µg/L
Given these results and how my digestion is currently improving and the information you shared, I’m wondering if it might make more sense to continue focusing on gut healing first, with DGL or zinc-carnosine, before introducing selenium to just make sure I at least gave my gut the proper healing it needs to be able to move onto the next phase (thyroid), I understood from Bernadette that sluggish thyroid does also affect digestion, however, I think my “gut feeling” is to continue with the gut healing, keeping in mind to introduce one at a time, would it be most suitable to begin with DGL or Zinc and are they meant to eventually be taken together? And are they okay to be taken at the same time prior to meals along with bitters? And is the Selenium and enzymes also okay to be taken mid meal together as well?
I just want to make sure I’m sequencing things in the most supportive way.
Thanks again for your guidance, it’s been extremely helpful!
