@LAK – yes, the protocol is for an adult, so dosages need to be adjusted for children.
Black seed oil is also an amazing anti-inflammatory! Regarding dosages, there is limited clinical research on its use in children, but it has been shown to be safe in low doses. One study investigated the effects of black seed oil as an add-on therapy…

Hi @LAK – it’s ok to open up capsules and mix with water/fresh OJ if a child can’t swallow pills or you can’t find a good powdered form.
Omega-3 is pretty hard to mask, and I’ve found it easier to add citrus flavor along with it. So lemon juice for example.
If reputable, any collagen brand should do.

Hi @LAK – PCOS is diagnosed using the Rotterdam Criteria (two of three criteria must be met):
- Irregular or absent ovulation (anovulation)
- High androgen levels
- Polycystic ovaries on ultrasound
The blood tests the doctor wants to run sound correct. They usually check androgen levels (testosterone and DHEAs), LH, FSH (the ratio may suggest PCOS).
To…

@LAK the fact that DHEA-s was low suggests that instead of it being converted into the sulfated, more stable storage form (DHEA-S), the DHEA you’re supplementing is being quickly converted to androstenedione. It could be that your body naturally has high enzyme activity to convert it that way or there could be PCOS which increases androgen…

Hi @LAK – here’s what stood out from these latest labs:
- High LH (Luteinizing Hormone): in women, this hormone triggers ovulation and stimulates the ovaries to produce estrogen and progesterone. Your level is 13 mIU/mL when it should be 1.9-12.5 during the early follicular phase (day 2 of your period). Your FSH (9.10 mIU/mL) however is within…

Hi @LAK – to avoid having you repeat yourself, can you please link the previous thread discussion we had so I can refresh my memory about your case. Additionally, I have a few follow-up questions:
- When were these tests taken in your cycle?
- How long after starting supplementation did you have your blood drawn?
- How long have you been supplementing…

Hi @LAK – with hypothyroid function, everything in the body slows down – including digestion and its digestive juices. So yes, it’s very possible to have suboptimal stomach acid as a result of subclinical low thyroid function. That’s why it’s important to address stress and thyroid nutrient deficiencies to help “fire up” metabolism again, as…

@LAK thanks for sharing. I’m glad you did, because as suspected thyroid function (even though you’re on Thyroxine) is still suboptimal. Ideally, I like to see Free T3 in the upper half of the clinical reference range. So based on these results, I’d like to see it above 3.2.
This means you’re having trouble converting T4 to free T3 the…
