Health History
- Female, 33yo, 5’6″, 229lbs (222lb 6 mo ago), ideal weight = 180lbs
- Chronic fatigue, gas, bleching; decrease in bladder control, fungal infections; constant anxiety; occasional reflux and asthma
- Goal: lose weight, start dating confidently, take photos of self during travels
- Job and living situation casuses a lot of stress; has a 9-5 + a side hustle (looking for a full time job that lets her drop the side hustle); financial stress, beauracratic stress
- Level of Stress (average): around 5-8, always a lingering stress; circumstantial stress (wants to change situation)
- Support: friends, colleagues helping with job hunt; no financial support
- Swelling, throat closing: inconclusive; has done allergy tests, no answers; allergist asked “is this actually an allergy?”; allergist prescribed med for reflux and actually felt relief, making her think it was acid reflux
- Parents: mom overweight; dad left when she was really young (potential early life trauma but J doesn’t recall anything apparent)
- In talk therapy to start understanding herself better
- Has always been “above average” for weight and height
- Emotional eater
- Wakes up in the middle of the night; less frequently but used to happen 3-4x/week (especially during very stressful times)
- Inflammation, headaches, congestion, swelling
- Periods: symptomatic (potential estrogen dominance); acne
- Birth Control History: some
- Has tested high for testosterone in the past; high DHEAS
- HPV in early 20s, yeast inections
- Dental issues
- ADHD diagnosis (in late 20s); takes adderall but not consistently
- SAD diet growing up
- Sleep: goes to sleep around 11pm-12am
Suggestion:
- VPF: vegetables, protein, fats
- Focus on complex carbohydrates, not simple carbs
- Blood sugar balancing
- Adrenal/thyroid support
- Immune system support: removing anything that is taxing the immune system
- Histamine overload
- Dairy Elimination Protocol: at least 30 days to see if symptoms improve
- Anti-fungal diet
- DAO Enzyme
- Stop probiotics; consider probiotics with strains that do not produce yeast (Seeking Health)
- Stop caffeine intake early in the day (including chocolate)
- Remove sucrolose; replace with Stevia
- ADHD: high protein breakfast; less screens/social media; activities that stimulate the brain (ex: adult coloring books, HIIT)
- L-theanine
- GABA
- Magnesium folate, thoronate
- Shift bedtime to an earlier time (aim: 10pm)
- Emotional Release
- Book: The Body Keeps the Score
- Bedtime routine to help promote good sleep (including no screens)
- Testing: Dutch/Adrenal testing (CAR testing), Thyroid (full panel), Vitman D, Vitamin A, RBC Zinc, Heavy Metal
- Swap personal care products to low tox/clean products (especially looking at estrogen mimickers)
