    Hi. B,

I received the below response on the back of the four questions from the course. He said that I don’t understand the complexity of the situation and wanted to speak to you. I’ve given him your email address.

He’s also sent me a number of attachments.

    Hi Andy,

I am currently working with a practitioner. We need to ensure that Alex visit will cover the following points:

    1. Thorough visual inspection with moisture readings all over the house. We  undertake an inspection – it does not take the place of a RICS surveyor inspection.  We look for evidence of water damage and mould and report on that. We DO NOT provide  moisture readings where the property is  found to be dry.

    2. Air sampling which includes both indoor and an outdoor sample for comparison.  What tests then do you want as there are several tests  that we can undertake?

    3. Surface sampling for visible growth.  What type of sampling – as there are  several options.   Why do you want to sample visible mould growth???  Visible mould needs to be removed.

    4. ERMI testing (dust samples).    ERMI  is  an index with score derived from an MSQ PCR DNA test which speciates  a number of moulds. We can do this test and even include a HERTSMI-2  score if that helps.

    Naveed,

Thanks for your interest in our services.
    Please see the attached.
Our focus is on  mould and mycotoxins  within the built environment and assisting with those  reporting health issues which may be related to mould exposure.   Our science and evidence based programs are  industry leading and  we believe that if a client is being  treated for removal of personal mycotoxins  then it makes sense to ensure that to maximise  efficacy of the treatment, the environment should be clear of the  same mycotoxins alongside ensuring that visible mould has been removed and that the property remains dry.
We undertake both environmental and respirable mycotoxin testing as well as REAL TIME fungal concentration assessments within property (see attached).
Clients include Insurers, Loss Adjusters, The British Museum, English Heritage and BP  Research and Building Scientists. We are recommended by many leading Nutritionists including referrals from US  mould practitioners and Doctors  who are  assisting UK clients.
An overview of our services  can be found here
Action Dry are an established professional Company fully conversant with the potential implications of personal exposure within damp and mouldy buildings.  Our Directors have been involved in the water damage industry since 1975 and we have specialised in mould damage since 1998.
When  working with persons who report negative health issues associated with mould exposure  we can provide comprehensive investigation of  environmental conditions.
We are the only UK  company to offer a new and exciting real time  mould assessment technology we  call “Mouldscope”. This system is a state of the art technology, originally developed for the  military to detect Anthrax. After the military de classified the technology, the licence was  given to commercialise the technology for mould investigations.  ( See attached information and sample report ). This technology is now well established and proven, having  been used to test and assess tens of thousands of properties here and in the USA.
Amongst other testing methods we can test and quantify  Actinomycetes, Endotoxins and Mycotoxins.   VOC’s / MVOC’s  or when asked,  calculate ERMI / HERTSMI scores. Please see the attached document outlining some of the testing services we undertake.
We  are  currently working with Australian  Scientists who  are developinga respirable mycotoxin test  – currently for  Aflatoxin, Ochratoxin and T2/TH2.  We are authorised to offer this test  on an  experimental basis only at this point. The emerging evidence  is that the presence of these particular respirable mycotoxins in water damaged and remediated homes are  more often than not and with time weighted averages applied,   in excess of  the  ingestion thresholds   limits set  by the Codex Alimentarius.  I currently await the white paper  and results of the Scientists research before formally introducing the test to the UK market.
We can  provide a science and evidenced  based mould  abatement service  which  we believe is industry leading and which  looks to ensure when appropriate  that a high level of cleanliness reassurance is achieved to  benefit the health recovery treatment.
Our team includes a  highly educated  scientific team specialising in home hygiene,  mould and air quality,  who can work alongside  our decontamination technicians – led by  the only  US – ACAC   certified mould remediator  and  certified mould consultant in the UK.
We are the UK  master license  holder of the Goldmorr mould removal system – which includes both surface and air treatments. Goldmorr  products are designed to leave no chemical residuals – ideal for those who report Multiple Chemical  Sensitivity.
We are authorised by RealTime labs of America  to undertake  their environmental mycotoxin sample collections. https://realtimelab.com/
I would be pleased to discuss our services and testing requirements in more detail if of interest.
    Best Regards

Hi @naslam1603  – if you’re not convinced, I would contact https://iseai.org/find-a-professional/ and ask them for a referral to a UK mold inspector which I shared in the “Getting Professional Help” section of the mold course.

When I was putting this course together, I reached out to them to see if there’s a similar database for the UK. Below was their response. Maybe you can contact some of the ones mentioned below for a referral:

    Hi Bernadette,
Thank you for reaching out to us!

I am unfamiliar with any similar directory in the UK or Middle East. However, you might reach out to some of the inspectors on our list and see if they have any recommendations.

There are some IEP members who have been in the field for quite some time and may be knowledgeable on international support (such as Michael Schrantz, Larry Schwartz, Bill Weber, and Max McCord).

I believe that ACAC does have some certified professionals internationally so you could also check their website. It’s important to note though that not all professionals on their list understand environmentally acquired illness to the same extent as ISEAI professionals.

Additionally, there are a couple of ISEAI members who are health professionals located in the UK (see searchable map here). Oliver Barnett comes to mind but there are others. If you reach out, they might have suggestions on UK inspectors.

Hope this information is helpful. We aim to one day expand our reach to help more people internationally, as we do get a fair amount of inquiries from other countries.

    Kind regards,

    Thank you B.

I wanted to clarify that I am convinced by your questions that I put forward to Action Dry. It’s just the feedback I received from Andy which I was taken aback with.

I also emailed the IICRC body as well in Europe region to get a listing of UK professionals.

I will follow up with the ISAEI link as well.

    Thank you. 😀👍🏻
